"The Great Storm" October 1987
On the night of Thursday 15th October the wind was blowing but it wasn't until about 2am that the full force of the storm began to be felt with winds up to 120 m.p.h., the fiercest on record for 250 years. Boats were torn from their moorings, buildings damaged and trees uprooted.

Storm Surge March 2008
On March 10th Emsworth experienced a major surge with the tide being some 0.7m higher than predicted in Portsmouth. The Southwest winds were severe with gusts up to F11 at the harbour entrance. The A259 was closed for a while and waves were over topping the wall at the head of the pond of The Slipper Mill Pond.  The Lord Raglan was flooded and it was possible to row along Queen Street.  Several trees were uprooted and the Quay was flooded as were parts of Bridge foot Path, Path Road and Bridge Road.  Fields between Emsworth and Warblington were flooded at high tide where the sea over topped the coastal defences.

April Snow 2008

Most unusually it snowed on April 6th, there was little disruption and by mid afternoon it had all thawed.

The Snow of January 2010
Heavy snow fell in Emsworth on 12th &13th January causing severe disruption. The snow thawed slowly refreezing at night over the next three days only disappearing completely on 18th January.

The Bridge Road Flood of November 2010 A blocked culvert on the West Brook led to Bridge Road being flooded on the morning of 9th November. Nearly 2 inched of rain had fallen in the preceding 24 hours and the water level rose to drain across the A259 into the Mill Pond.  The road were closed for three hours and residents from flooded houses were evacuated to St James Church Hall.
